The first units of Kaishan’s SMGP power project in Indonesia achieve grid-connected power generation

The first units of Kaishan’s SMGP project in Indonesia obtained approval from Indonesian electricity authority for grid-connected power generation on June 1, 2018.

Yesterday, Indonesian electricity authority came to SMGP project site and conducted inspection. The units commenced operation at 9 o’clock this morning. From 9:15 to 10:00, the steam expander power generation units and ORC expander power generation units achieved grid connection successfully at the first attempt. Currently the site staff is raising the power outputs according to instructions given by the grid. The successful operation of the project is very helpful in relieving the local electricity shortages.

Kaishan has created a new model of large geothermal power plant development and achieved a phenomenal success in geothermal power project development after a period of 19 months spent on drilling, completion of the plant, grid connection, and protracted waiting on long and complicated approval procedures.
